CNC Operator
Job Title: CNC Setter/Operator – Evening Shift
Location: Witney, Oxford
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 12:30am (Permanent Late Shift)
Pay Rate: £13-£14 per hour + 25% shift enhancement (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
About The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a small, collaborative team working on the evening shift. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of competency in both setting up and operating CNC machinery. While experience in both is preferred, applicants with strong operating skills and a willingness to develop their setting capabilities are encouraged to apply. Full training and support will be provided as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC machines in accordance with job specifications and engineering drawings
- Ensure all required parts, materials, and technical drawings are available and correct before commencing work
- Record and maintain accurate set-up details and carry out regular machine checks
- Identify and escalate quality or performance issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor or manager
- Work in compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) procedures and risk assessments
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to work and teamwork
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational efficiency
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by management
Person Specification
Essential:
- Previous experience in CNC machine operating
- Willingness to work permanent evening shifts (Monday to Thursday)
- Proactive attitude towards safety and quality
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable:
- Experience with Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
- Previous experience in a small-team manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Familiarity with recording set-up and production data
