Job Title: CNC Setter/Operator – Evening Shift

Location: Witney, Oxford

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 12:30am (Permanent Late Shift)

Pay Rate: £13-£14 per hour + 25% shift enhancement (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a small, collaborative team working on the evening shift. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of competency in both setting up and operating CNC machinery. While experience in both is preferred, applicants with strong operating skills and a willingness to develop their setting capabilities are encouraged to apply. Full training and support will be provided as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machines in accordance with job specifications and engineering drawings
• Ensure all required parts, materials, and technical drawings are available and correct before commencing work
• Record and maintain accurate set-up details and carry out regular machine checks
• Identify and escalate quality or performance issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor or manager
• Work in compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) procedures and risk assessments
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to work and teamwork
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational efficiency
• Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by management

Person Specification

Essential:

• Previous experience in CNC machine operating
• Willingness to work permanent evening shifts (Monday to Thursday)
• Proactive attitude towards safety and quality
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

• Experience with Fanuc-controlled CNC machines
• Previous experience in a small-team manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Familiarity with recording set-up and production data
