Welder / Fabricator
Cranleigh STEM are partnering with an innovative UK clean energy technology company developing next-generation hydrogen power systems. As the business continues to develop and commercialise its technology, we're looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join its growing engineering and manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on individual to work on technically interesting projects, supporting the fabrication, assembly and development of specialist equipment used in hydrogen production and power generation.
The Role
Working closely with the engineering and prototype development teams, you'll be responsible for welding, fabricating and assembling mechanical components and structures to support the build of complex engineered systems.
The position would suit an experienced Welder or Fabricator who enjoys varied, precision-focused work rather than repetitive production welding, and takes pride in producing high-quality components.

Carrying out welding and fabrication activities to engineering drawings and specifications
Preparing, cutting, fitting and assembling metal components and fabricated structures
Producing high-quality welded assemblies for prototype and production equipment
Supporting the fabrication and modification of mechanical components, brackets, frames and supporting structures
Working alongside mechanical engineers and technicians to resolve practical manufacturing and assembly challenges
Inspecting completed work to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards
Maintaining welding equipment, tools and a safe, organised workshop
Supporting continuous improvement across fabrication and manufacturing processes
Following appropriate health, safety and quality procedures
Experience Required:
Previous TIG welding coding for stainless steel pipework
Proven experience TIG welding stainless steel pipes and assemblies
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications
Experience preparing, fitting and welding pipework to high-quality standards
Strong understanding of weld quality, inspection and safe working practices
Experience in prototype, process equipment or specialist engineering environments advantageous
