Can you combine livestock market expertise, technical understanding and commercial leadership to bring a new game changing solution to market?
Cranleigh STEM is partnering with BioChek to recruit a Head of Customer Process Solutions, leading a new business unit focused on helping livestock customers improve animal health, productivity and operational performance.
Reporting directly to the CEO and managing four Technical Support Specialists, you will shape the business unit’s strategy, develop its customer proposition and drive commercial growth.
This is an opportunity for a collaborative, commercially minded leader who understands the livestock market and can turn customer needs into practical diagnostic solutions.
The opportunity
A key priority during your first 12 months will be to fully understand the application and trial requirements of the swine and poultry markets, ensuring BioChek provides the solutions needed to support successful adoption.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and delivering the business unit’s strategy, commercial plans and product roadmap.
• Leading the introduction of new solutions, from identifying customer needs and supporting trials through to commercial launch.
• Leading, coaching and developing four Technical Support Specialists.
• Working closely with Sales, R&D, Operations, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing to deliver shared business objectives.
• Building relationships with key customers, distributors, partners and industry influencers.
• Translating market insight and diagnostic data into customer recommendations and opportunities for product development.
• Equipping commercial colleagues with the technical knowledge to communicate the value of BioChek’s solutions.
About you
You will bring strong knowledge of the livestock sector, particularly swine and poultry, alongside the commercial acumen, product knowledge and technical credibility to lead a new business unit.
We are looking for:
• A degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years’ relevant experience in animal health, diagnostics, veterinary pharmaceuticals, laboratory services or integrated livestock operations, including at least five years in leadership.
• Experience in business unit management, commercial strategy and channel or partner management.
• Understanding of diagnostic technologies such as ELISA, PCR, point-of-care testing and associated software.
• The ability to understand customer workflows, application requirements and trial needs, translating these into effective solutions.
• Confident communication, sound judgement and the resilience to overcome hurdles and maintain momentum.
• A collaborative leadership style: someone who champions the interests of the wider business, builds trust and brings colleagues with them.
• Excellent English communication skills and willingness to travel internationally up to 50%.
Experience in production or operations would also be valuable.
